1. Who we are

UK Care World (ukcareworld.com) is a free training, template and information resource for care workers and care homes across the UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, UK Care World is the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What information we collect

We keep the information we collect deliberately minimal. We do not require account creation to use the site, and we do not collect payment information anywhere on it.

• Email address — when you sign up for the monthly regulation digest, or ask to be notified about a template, we collect the email address you provide, along with the date and which page the request came from.
• Standard technical logs — like virtually every website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We do not use this data to identify individuals.

3. How we use your information

We use the email address you give us only for the purpose you gave it to us for:

• Sending the monthly regulation digest, if you signed up for it
• Letting you know when a template you requested becomes available

We do not use your email for any other form of marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Our legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on your consent as the legal basis for holding and using your email address — you actively provide it by submitting one of our forms, and you can withdraw that consent at any time (see Your rights below).

5. How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, or until your template request has been fulfilled. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will remove it within a reasonable time, and in any case within 30 days.

6. How we store and protect it

Email addresses submitted through our forms are stored in a protected file on our web server, in a location that is not accessible directly via a web browser. We take reasonable technical steps to prevent unauthorised access, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Do we share your information?

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share it only where required by law, to protect our legal rights, or with a service provider strictly necessary to operate the site (for example, our web hosting provider) — and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any information that's inaccurate or incomplete
• Erase your information (also known as the "right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to how we process your information
• Withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from any email
• Data portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we've mishandled your information

9. Children's privacy

UK Care World is intended for care workers, care home staff and managers, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Third-party links

Our site links to third-party platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, and official government and regulatory websites (such as CQC, HSE and gov.uk). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites — please review their own privacy policies before sharing any personal information with them.

11. Cookies

We use a very limited set of cookies and similar technologies. Full details are in our separate Cookie Policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we introduce a new feature that changes what data we collect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We encourage you to check back periodically.
